Territory Branding and Marketing as a Tool to Improve Competitiveness

Summary

Effective territorial marketing is an important prerequisite for successful attracting investments to the territory, development of domestic and incoming tourism, expansion of exports, attracting of skilled labor forces. At the working session on territory branding following discussion topics are scheduled:
· creation of mechanisms for planning and coordination of activities of all levels of governance in the field of brand promotion and territorial marketing;
· implementation of effective mechanisms for publicprivate partnership in promoting regional brands which coordinate the activities of state and municipal authorities and business;
· analysis of territory branding and marketing practices in Russia;
· casestudy: implemented projects.
At the working session it is suggested to draw up the results of completed projects Ulyanovsk Region, Omsk region, Novosibirsk, Nenets Autonomous District, Kaluga region and make recommendations for territories regarding the most efficient way of organizing (preparing TOR, training seminars, funding) territory branding and marketing projects, as well as their further implementation.
